The severe criticism is due to O’Neal’s remarks on a report that Nurkić was considering filing charges against Draymond Green after their brawl in December.

Shaquille O’Neal mentioned a report on his “Big” podcast that Jusuf Nurkic was considering filing charges against Draymond Green following the Warriors forward’s hit to his face in an on-court altercation in December. The big man for the Suns denied that the allegation was accurate.

“I want to have a Katt Williams moment right now,” O’Neal, 51, began, referring to the comedian going on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast and lighting fire to the Hollywood establishment.
“Per NBC Sports, I don’t know if it’s true or not, Jusuf Nurkic is talking about pressing charges against Draymond Green. Now I have a problem with that. Because one, it just shows how soft you are as a big man. You’re going to ruin what I created in the big man alliance.”
“I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I want to address it. Jusuf Nurkić … is talking about pressing charges against Draymond Green,” O’Neal said on a recent episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq. “Now I have a problem with that. Because one, it just shows how soft you are as a big man. You’re going to ruin what I created in the big man alliance.

“The reason why Draymond hit you sir, is because he knows you’re not going to hit him back. So for you to say, even think about saying you are pressing charges, you’re soft. This is something I would tell you to your face if I saw you. You can’t press charges, you just gotta get your big a– up and hit somebody back. How about that? With your big soft a–?”
While denying the rumor, Nurkić addressed Shaq’s comments on social media Friday.
“Lmao first i never said that! People be making s— up lol,” posted Nurkić. “Shaqilović I’m not from here, I’m not losing money and nobody fighting in this NBA.”

It should be noted that Shaq stated he wasn’t sure if Nurkic wanted to file charges or not. Given that the Phoenix Suns center refuted these claims, some fans may be waiting to hear from Shaq further or to see if this matter can be resolved once and for all, especially with Draymond back in action.
Following the’smack’ he received, Jusuf Nurkic stated in the news conference that he gave that some thought. Draymond stated that he “needs help,” alluding to his previous acts of aggressiveness toward other players, including his recent chokehold on Rudy Gobert during an altercation between the Timberwolves and the Warriors during the NBA Cup.
It is reported that Green apologized to Nurkic after smacking him in the face.
